Did you know that scaling should be a part of your strategy for your business?
It's fine if you didn't know because you are in the right place to learn why scaling should be a part of your business strategy.
I’m sure that you’ve probably heard about the importance of having a strategy in your business or for your business right or maybe it was phrased as having a strategic plan. How about a business plan or an action plan or even a contingency plan?
If you haven’t and you are a serious business owner, I highly recommend that you do your research and become familiar with those things. As you become familiar with these things, you will also learn the importance and benefits of having them in your business.
What is Scaling?
The scaling part is definitely a crucial one. Scaling relates to growth and costs. This means that you need to have an idea about how your business IS doing financially.
Yes, having a look at that budget of yours.
I hope you are looking at your company's budget to be aware of what you are spending your money on and where you are generating revenue. This allows you to really know how your business is doing. This will put you in a position to be better and be able to make better decisions about your business
Fortune Media has an article where they mention that scaling a business occurs when you increase your revenue while keeping your costs low
There are several ways that any business can scale. In this article, I want to share 3 of them to help you to help you get started with scaling your business. Remember your vision and mission as you start thinking of which strategy you will be using to scale your business.
1. Automation
Look at the processes that you are currently using. Which of those processes can you automate so that you are not physically doing them or that you don’t have team members spending time on those things when they could be spending time on other more important actions. Delegation is also a part of the automation process because there are going to be tasks that you will need to delegate for others or for a tech system to do, so you can focus on the important things that will help increase your revenue
2. Networking
If you’re serious about being a business owner, you should be networking. Networking can help you reduce advertising costs. Plus networking can get you close to being in front of your target audience. When done correctly, networking can lead to high quality referrals and actual customers. Plus, repeat customers too! But I suggest that you have a plan for your networking and be strategic in who you are adding to your network. I joined a formal networking group and I am also strategically building my network on LinkedIn and Alignable.
3. Maintain Your Focus
This one can be tough because there’s lots to do in our businesses. But we have to differentiate between the daily busy tasks and those meaningful important and sometimes complex tasks that we need to accomplish. Those could include building out processes, products, services, solutions for your business that you then need to implement and monitor. Identifying your goals and your plan for reaching those goals is a HUGE part of staying focused because you will also be identifying the resources that you need and the costs associated with them.
As I mentioned earlier, these are just 3 strategies to help you with scaling your business so that you can keep costs down and increase your revenue. That is the definition of scaling! Hope these help you and your business.
